Passementerie Effect Glass Victorian button

Description

Rare Paasementerie-look (18th Century embroidered work with metal thread) in a Victorian moulded black glass with painted colours and old gold lustre. Quite dull which only makes it look more 18th Century than 19th Century. Passementerie buttons are the rarest to find as the fabrics have deteriorated with age. So this is a good ‘Second Best’ for a Button Collector and a very interesting Glass specimen. With Brass Shank.
